Melanated Authors are extremely passionate about teaching and supporting teachers with research-based strategies to use with their students.

 Melanated Authors are compassionate about sharing expert literature with students through school assemblies.    Melanated Authors offer a combination of motivational storytelling, interactive activities, and research-based ideas to support student learning. 

 Melanated Authors are committed to helping students understand their roles as writers.  

Through the Writers Workshops, the Melanated Authors will create and deliver instruction based on students’ developmental writing needs.

This is an awesome opportunity for students to meet real authors.  Students will get a signed copy of our books and have the opportunity to ask questions.

This book club is designed for students in 2nd grade and beyond.  The purpose is to enhance literacy skills while giving children the opportunity to discuss books using scholarly language.

This workshop is perfect for adult writers who are interested in bringing their writing ideas to the publishing state.  This workshop will cover:

• How to get your first draft edited 

• How to get your final manuscript published

• The pros and cons of self publishing as well as traditional publishing 

We offer  in person and virtual tutoring for students struggling in reading.  Students will receive:

• A free assessment 

• An individualized learning plan

• Quality instruction that includes effective reading strategies

Coaching services are available for aspiring writers who are seeking to:

• Complete their first draft

• Edit their final manuscript

• Find an illustrator

• Discover how to self publish

• Discover how to submit manuscript to a publishing company
